Postby silviloo » Tue Jul 13, 2010 2:09 pm

Dear Erfa,

Thank you for having registrated me. Before I will introduce myself, I have to ask a question. I come from germany, I took 200microgr levtthyroxine, an about 15-20 T3 (thybon). I know very well, that it souds a lot and it's true that my ft 3 an ft4 Levels always were a liitle bit over the normal. But I felt quite well, not overdosaged and not under, but noch really well.
So my doctor proposed me to change : 150 Levthyroxine an 2X 30 Erfa. After 5 days I got a big back aking. After 11 days I got this feeling in the throat, a Knocking and this dumbling-Feeling. In the night i began to sweat so much. (i know these feelings but more from underdosag). So my doctor wanted me to make a bloodtest. Ft3 and ft4 sanked about 5 % , still about 105 %. But he wanted me to take 3 x 30 Erfa. I know take 3x 30 Erfa an 150 Lt (7.day) butthe 21.day I take erfa actually. My pulse satarted to be higher , already with 2 erfa 30. in the evening I got it higher than normally, aboput 80 or 90. I don't know what to do. Ist the change? I reduces from 200 Levth. to 150, t3 i was used to. Shell I reduce mor my Levth.? Or what shell I do. I feel well physically, but this feeling in the throat kills me. Please help...I don't want to give up Erfa....but perhaps it's nothing for me? I have Hashimoto diagnosed for 15 years.

Thank you

Dear Silviloo,

Thyroid contains extramedicinal ingredients beside the desiccated thyroid. It is possible that the feeling in the throught is an allergic reaction to those extramedicinal ingredients. If this is the case, you need to be properly evaluated by your physician that might suggest another alternative to our medication.
My suggestion is therefore to go see your doctor so he can evaluate if this is a reaction to the medication. If this is the case, he might offer another alternative of treatment.
Sincerely,
